McHONE KING - Benjamin Franklin McHone, 82, of King, husband of the late Eva Thomas McHone, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Village Care in King, NC. He was born in Stokes County on September 5, 1926 to the late William Anderson and Daisy Mae Manring McHone. Mr. McHone served with the U.S. Army during WWII; retired from The Hastings Corporation in King and was of the Baptist Faith. Benjamin loved working on his farm and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Nancy McHone of King; two grandchildren, Tina and Jon Fleshman of King and Ronald and Amanda McHone of King; four great-grandchildren, Ronie Fleshman, Amber Fleshman, Alyssa McHone and Cory Shull; one sister, Sarah Whitaker of Mt Airy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, AJ and Betty McHone of Greensboro, David McHone of Germanton and Edgar and Ann McHone of Clayton. Mr. McHone was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Cox-Needham Chapel with the Rev. Bill Marr conducting the service with interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with full Military Rites by King American Legion Post # 290. The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain is assisting the McHone family.
