Mr. Richard Jackson McHone, 69, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Thursday morning, June 19, 2008 at Springwood Care Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Stokes County on October 24, 1938 to the late William Anderson and Daisy Manring McHone.

Narrative

Mr. Richard Jackson McHone, 69, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday morning, June 19, 2008, at Springwood Care Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born in Stokes County on Oct. 24, 1938, to the late William Anderson and Daisy Manring McHone.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters; and nine brothers.

He is survived by a sister, Sarah Whitaker of Mount Airy; and four brothers, A.J. and Betty McHone of Greensboro; Edgar and Ann McHone of Benson; Franklin McHone of King; and David McHone of Germanton.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Danbury, with a graveside service to follow at Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery, with Brother Bill Tucker officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Jimmy Tucker 1997 Sheppard Mill Road, Danbury, NC 27016. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Danbury is assisting the McHone family.
