DONE! Posted on 05/08/09 at 2:59PM
[ mandlar ]

I finished college (all classes, finals, etc. minus graduation) before Duke Nukem Forever was finally canceled.

I will also be on the Dean’s list for the fourth time this final semester.  That is a good way to go out.  And 50% of the time isn’t bad either.

I still have a lot of unpacking to do.  I’ve been very busy with it.  I’ll try and write something more substantial soon.

And I’m also looking for a webhost, if anyone has any to suggest.  Bare requirements are PHP/MySQL.

GUITAR HERO: METALLICA Posted on 03/31/09 at 12:52AM

If you haven’t seen this, then you need to watch it:

You also need to watch this behind-the-scenes video: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4025171

I actually tried out the demo for GH:Metallica earlier today (since I finally received my 360!) and thought it would be worth buying in the near future.

Plus, our team is going to the Final Four. What else do I have to say? Looks like another championship year to me!

WHITE INAUGURATION DAY Posted on 01/20/09 at 2:26PM
[ mandlar ]

I went to bed last night knowing that it was going to snow during the night, but I didn’t think it would snow this much!

Sadly, I had morning class today, but before and after class I went around campus and took a few shots with the camera I am buying from my brother (Konica Minolta Dimage Z2).  However, my 3:30 class (and I am currently assuming band practice tonight) has been cancelled as the University is closing classes from 3:30 pm to 10 am tomorrow.

I hope you all caught at least some of the inauguration today of our new 44th President Barack Obama.  It sure did look cold in Washington today.

I just uploaded two albums to Facebook of the pictures I took today.  You can see them here and here.

LAST SEMESTER Posted on 01/12/09 at 3:27PM
[ mandlar ]

Well folks, here I am.  My long road of collegiate life is nearing its end.  In but less than four months I will be a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

However, lets not get too far ahead of ourselves just yet.  I’ve still got four more classes to go!  Today I had all three of my histories.  I am most certainly dropping my US in WW2 class.  As much as I’d love to learn the material, I just don’t think the professor will make it enjoyable enough for me to keep the class.  So I plan on taking two histories (The World Since 1945 and NC History Since 1865), my last comp class: Programming Language Concepts, and Family and Society with my previous Aging professor.  I really only need three classes to graduate, but I don’t want to underload and would really like to pick up my History minor.

Now, I must now go off and get organized for my last semester.

CHAPEL HILL UNDER SIEGE BY RAIN Posted on 08/28/08 at 3:20PM
[ mandlar ]

This semester the Computer Science building’s annex was completed and we now have classes in the new part of the building. The building is called Fred Brooks named after this guy who founded our department at UNC.

The new part of the building (it isn’t a separate building, it is literally attached to Sitterson) is very nice. I even have one class in the building! And a lot of the other classrooms/conference rooms look great too.

Well, the past two days it has been raining like crazy in Chapel Hill. Super crazy. We even had Marching Band practice in the rain Tuesday night (that was lamesauce too).

Yesterday morning it pretty much flash flooded.

Guess what building was affected by water damage? The brand spanking new Fred Brooks building! And even more specifically: my classroom!

Doesn’t that just stink?

You deserved better, anyways.

I’M A SENIOR. WHO THE #@#! ARE YOU? Posted on 08/18/08 at 12:30PM
[ mandlar ]

Finally, band camp is over and done with. To be honest, I think it was the easiest camp we’ve ever had. I remember previous years being so much more demanding. Perhaps it is just me.

Our first show this year is going to be of a Rockband/Guitar Hero theme. And of course, the only music the drumline has gotten is Flirtin’ with Disaster. I believe the other tunes are going to be Rock You Like a Hurricane and Highway Star.

Fall Fest was great. You wouldn’t believe how many people don’t realize a drumline is coming straight at them (and therefore need to MOVE) until you are right on top of them. After the band was done, I went back and bought my senior shirt and got the “I’m a SENIOR. Who the #@#! Are you?” sticker.

I bought all of my books yesterday. So far this year is coming out VERY cheap: about $160ish and the only thing I have left to buy are maps for one of my history class (stores were sold out).

And now for a day of rest. Ahh….

OWNED! Posted on 05/01/08 at 1:24PM
[ mandlar ]

I would just like to say that I outrightly OWNED my Aging class. I took the final early today, and thought I did really well on it given that he put a few tricky questions on there (some material that I didn’t as thoroughly study as I should have, but I did study all day yesterday for it). I even got a 10/10 on my paper about Paul. Awesome!

I’ll be highly recommending people to take Professor Uhlenberg’s class. It is a shame I don’t have the time to his family related class.

Back to studying now…
