I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my brand new iPod Touch ever since it arrived at my door step.
However, I have not thoroughly been enjoying the constant battle with iTunes. Specifically, I keep getting the following error message when attempting to sync to my iPod Touch: “The iPod “Bryan’s iTouch” cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to.”
I’ve tried all of the following to no avail:
- Restore to previous backup
- Restore to brand new iPod Touch
- Re-register ddls
- Delete photo cache
- Re-start Apple Mobiel service and Uninstall Apple Mobile driver and re-install it
- Different USB ports, including USB ports on a PCI card
- Tried the “Scan Hardware” or “Unplug/replug a USB device” while syncing trick
Purge iTunes to hell
About the only thing I haven’t tried is a DFU restore and I really have a feeling that is not going to work.
I just hope I can figure this out soon…. will post an update if I do manage to do so.

I’m telling you DFU, but don’t use a backup from the iTunes. Do the DFU restore… then sync your stuff again. It is possible that you have a corrupted backup too, hence the reason for not using the backup.
