I just received it about an hour ago from FedEx. I’m still waiting on it to sync up with my music before I can play around with it. I’m going to need a case for it. My brother gave me an old iPhone case he had (thanks bro!), but I’m not sure how well it is going to work (since the iTouch is much slimmer than the iPhone). It’ll at least do me for now until I can get something more snug for it.
I already started hunting down good free apps before I even received it. I’ll be sure to update what all good ones I like and recommend.

I hate to say it but I’m pretty confident that they’ll be a 3rd generation iPod Touch (based on the iPhone 3G S) in September or so, just after they clean out all the stock of the iPod Touch 2G with their back-to-school promotions.
But I love my iPod 2nd gen (16gb as well). I’ll look up my favorite apps, right now I’m too lazy. Most of them do cost nominal amounts of money though.
